I have been in Lego Robotics since 2013 and finished my year of FLL in 2016. My teams have been called the Lego Lunatics, Lego Lunatics 2.0 and The Clean-Up Crew. I have had an interest in robotics since I was little because it was fun to see how everything worked and the function of the mechanism. I had joined my school's FLL(First Lego League) in the sixth grade and had started enjoying this activity because we had to create a robot from egos and electronics to program the robot to complete obstacles or challenges to get points to advance to a higher competition so you could get trophies and awards. In 2013, my first team advanced from the first competition, but didn't advance from the 2nd tournament. In 2014, my other team, Lego Lunatics 2.0 (Picture on the left) didn't advance from the first competition. In 2015, our new team The Clean-Up Crew advanced to the districts, but failed to advance later on in the competition in 2016.
In the 2017-2018 season, I got to join FTC and be a part of The DRSS Enterprise. FTC is in the same organization as FLL, but works with actual tools and machinery and is for high school students. During that season, I got to advance to the state competition and it was really entertaining to watch everyone's work be presented on the field and see who put more effort into their ideas and plans for what they wanted for a robot. Even when the season was over, our team was stacked with tasks to finish before some outreach events we planned to do. Over the 2018 summer, DRSS Enterprise was at the Ohio Air Force Show, Wright Patt Air Force Base, HAMvention, Maker Faire, and other events to help spread the message of FIRST. For the 2018-2019 season, our team went to the state competition in Kentucky and went to the final round to be placed in 2nd place. We also got to participate in Ohio's state competition, but didn't advance from there.
