The biggest growth that I had experienced in this class is Creativity because most of the activities or projects involved with this class had involved a little bit of creativity. When we did a project or activity in STEM foundations, to me we have a part of your own perspective of creativity in almost everything we did in class. In the beginning of the school year in this class, I didn’t somewhat understand some of the teachings that we were learning that involved because I didn’t really see that much creativity in that work. But during the year, I felt like there was creativity in anything I was working on. This specific growth had helped my creative perspective with my Drawings by making them more detailed and realistic by looking at the proportions of the body parts and the shading, with the realism of the piece of work.
One artifact that would show my growth in creativity the most would be pages 6 & 8, first and final draft images of the Story Book Project, a project where we had to make a storybook with a partner that would teach wellness topics to 3rd to 5th Graders in a way that made learning fun to kids this age. When we started this project, I thought it would be easy because I am very creative. But during this process, I did a medium or a different type of media I had never used before and it had become difficult and frustrating because I couldn’t make the perspective of quality of work I wanted to make.
During the whole course of the project, I had gotten better at my skills in using watercolor and hues by getting feedback from my peers and teachers to influence me into do better at my artwork to make images that could show people outside of DRSS that the students can do what they believe in and can surpass others. Later in this project, it had become easier to make because I believed in myself and in my creative intellect & perspective, my images had got better and better by every draft finished.
A few pieces of evidence that shows what I had learn in watercolor is the brush lines on the border of the characters and background because the lines are smooth & straight than the earlier drafts, where the lines were crooked and messy, with sharp edges. This growth really helped me believe that I can get better in different types of Media’s or Medium’s (Like watercolor) so I can expand the amount of artistic intellect I already have.
One of the main pieces of classroom content that is visibly shown in these artifacts is hue. A hue is a fragment of the color wheel. A hue is important to me because when you are using a specific color (ex.crismon), you need to know where that color originated from because you could use those colors to create or make new colors that can satisfy you. Another part of classroom content that is visible from these artifacts are some of the primary colors. The three primary colors (Red, Yellow, and Blue) are what makes the color wheel because these three colors can’t be created by any other colors, but these colors can make up other colors. This was important to me because when using these colors, my partner and I had to mix these three colors together (red, green, and blue) to make colors that we could use in the storybook to show detail because for watercolor, we were only to use three colors, but we could make shades (a color that is lighter or darker than the original color that was used to make that shade) or colors that mostly include one of the three colors that we had chosen.. One last classroom or learning content that is shown in these artifacts is Triadic. Triadic is a term that means three colors on the color wheel are equally distanced away from each other. This shows importance because the three colors I selected were equally distanced from each other or were close to be Triadic. I thought it was important to learn this because as an artist, it would be important to know those color definitions for pieces of artwork that include them so you and others can easily identify or explain why you used that specific hue, contrast, etc.
During this majority of the school year, I thought I had grown a lot in creativity in this class mostly because it is easier to get more ideas flowing and I can show more parts of creativity in my artwork and schoolwork. This also helped my growth with creativity because I learned more helpful information that can further improve my creative skills and to overall advance further than what I could do right now. I hope my artistic vision can grow later on in later grades and my growth in creativity and expand and grow more and more.
